Borrow Zero Waste Event loan gear
Through Auckland Council, you can borrow zero waste event loan gear for small gatherings of 100 people, right through to large-scale events of 5000+ people.
You will need to supply your own wheelie bins (240L) to sit underneath the plastic pyramid tops. If you don’t have access to your own wheelie bins, you can organise bins and a waste collection service from your local provider. Please note – We do not provide any waste collection services.
Our loan gear includes:
- colour-coded plastic pyramid tops (red for landfill, yellow for mixed recyclables, and green for compostables)
- attachable waste display screens to hold a sample/s of the waste. These come with clips and ties to attach your items. Instructions for how to assemble the waste display screens can be found here.
- Weighing scales (to weigh event waste and calculate waste diversion rates)
- Flags
- Litter grabbers
- Public litter bin covers
- Gloves
- Hats
- Aprons

We can also support you to create a thorough waste disposal plan for all waste collected.

All gear loaned is subject to availability. Bookings should be made at least ten days prior to your event.
Our loan gear service is currently on hold. However, we’re accepting expressions of interest for future events to be considered when we re-open this service.
We don’t yet have a date for when this service will reopen, and we may not be able to support events happening soon.
